Before it became a household name, Earl Grey was a tea shrouded in controversy, deception, and legal battles. First emerging in the 1830s as a clever forgery passed off as an expensive Chinese import, this bold blend was so sought-after that it defied prohibition and rebranded itself as Grey’s Mixture. This historically inspired take on the original combines Ceylon and Keemun black teas with the signature citrusy lift of bergamot oil and an unexpected twist—dried beet—for a touch of natural sweetness and depth. Savour the taste of history in every sip, and drink like a tea-loving rogue.
